Why we joined the Right to Rent Collaborative

Local rules decide where short-term rentals can operate. The Right to Rent Collaborative funds the state and local associations that speak for property managers when those rules get written. CraftedStays is a member.

What it is

An industry fund for local short-term rental associations

The Right to Rent Collaborative is a nonprofit industry organization. It raises money from businesses that depend on short-term rentals and gives it to the associations that represent property managers and owners, market by market.

Funds local associations

The Collaborative pools contributions from across the industry and grants them to state and local short-term rental associations.

Backs the people in the room

Those associations attend council meetings, bring data on local impact, and work with officials on rules that let responsible operators keep operating.

Open to the whole industry

Property managers, owners, software companies and service providers all contribute. Members include companies that compete with each other everywhere else.

The Right to Rent Program

$2 a reservation, set once

The program gives property managers a simple way to fund the work without renegotiating it with every owner. You set it once at the company level, and it runs with every booking.

01

Opt in

A property manager enrolls in the Right to Rent Program on the Collaborative's site.

02

$2 per reservation

Each reservation contributes $2. With participating software, it's collected and donated automatically each month.

03

Funds go local

The Collaborative grants the money to short-term rental associations working on rules in their own markets.

Why we're involved

Our customers can only book direct if they can operate

The property managers we work with spend their days on the guest: the listing, the stay, the review. The rules that decide whether they can operate at all get written somewhere else, often at a city council meeting on a weeknight, and the people running the homes are usually too busy running them to be there.

That's the job local associations take on. They show up, bring the data, and make the case for responsible short-term rentals. Most of them run on very little money. The Right to Rent Collaborative is the most direct way we've found to fund them.

We build direct booking websites. Every site we launch depends on a property manager who is allowed to keep renting in their town, so helping fund those associations is part of our work, and we joined in September 2026.

About CraftedStays

CraftedStays builds direct booking websites for professional property managers, designed for two jobs: discovery and conversion. On discovery, every site is structured to be found on Google and cited in AI answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI, with pages built around the ways guests actually search, from pet-friendly stays to a page for each town you serve. Aria, our AI search (AEO) research tool, studies your market, shows what your site is missing, and lets your team make the change in plain language. On conversion, guests search, compare and book on your own domain, on hospitality-grade templates, so every visit and every sale is yours to see and improve. The platform improves continuously, with updates that ship several times a week and land on every site. CraftedStays was named 2025 Direct Booking Website Builder of the Year by Travel & Hospitality Tech Outlook.
